Fukushima Prefecture has the third-largest area in Japan, following Hokkaido and Iwate Prefecture.
Stretching from the mountainous western region to the Pacific coast in the east, Fukushima is often divided into three distinct areas due to its varied climate and cultural differences: Hama-dori, Naka-dori, and Aizu.
This time, we are introducing recommended sightseeing information for 15 cities and towns in the Hamadori area and other regions of Fukushima Prefecture.
*Tamura City and Kawamata Village are technically part of the Naka-dori area, but they also serve as a midpoint connecting it to Hama-dori.
The Hama-dori area refers to the cluster of municipalities along the Pacific coast on the eastern side of Fukushima, extending from north to south. Although located in the Tohoku region, the coastal geography of Hama-dori gives it a relatively mild climate with little snow.
The area is rich in attractions, including agricultural products that thrive in the warm climate, breathtaking coastal views, fresh seafood, local cuisine, and historical sites!
